String Types

Synthetic Gut

Synthetic gut is a nylon-based string designed to offer a reliable, all-round playing experience. It provides a good balance of power, control, and comfort, making it a popular choice for recreational and club players. Synthetic gut is arm-friendly, consistent, and cost-effective, which makes it suitable for players who want dependable performance without the need for frequent restringing or specialist setups.

Multifilament

Multifilament strings are constructed from hundreds or thousands of fine fibres, engineered to maximise comfort and feel. They are particularly effective at absorbing shock, making them an excellent option for players with arm or elbow concerns, or anyone seeking a softer response from the racket. Multifilaments offer good power and touch, especially at lower tensions, though they tend to be less durable than firmer string types.

Polyester

Polyester strings are firm, monofilament strings developed for control, durability, and spin. They are commonly used by regular and competitive players who generate their own power and hit with heavy topspin. Polyester offers excellent directional control and resistance to movement, but it is less forgiving on the arm, so careful tension selection and regular restringing are important to maintain performance and comfort.

Natural Gut

Natural gut is made from natural fibres and is widely regarded as the benchmark for string performance. It offers unmatched comfort, feel, and tension maintenance, delivering a powerful yet controlled response that remains consistent over time. Natural gut is exceptionally arm-friendly and is often chosen by high-level players or those managing arm issues, though it comes at a higher cost and requires careful handling.
